 M2K Holiday Special 2009
« Thread Started on Nov 3, 2009, 10:54pm »

Hey guys,

I can't even begin to count what year we're on, but I think this is probably the nineth annual Holiday Special M2K's had! As usual, we're looking for all kinds of contributions from all corners of the fanfic community. All you have to do is pick a character (or characters) and submit a 4-8 page short story by December 19th to either me or Josh Reynolds.

Currently the only character dibbed for a story is Wolverine, so everyone feel free to dive right in! Thanks guys.

Had a lot of fun doing this last year, and I've been so quiet on the fan fiction front here with Starjammers #3 finally coming along, I'll give this another whack. I'll do a Starjammers Christmas story for this :)

Dibbies galore on She-Hulk and MODOK. Since I already turned in my story, I suppose I should mention who I used :-)

Figured I'd put it here publicly as well that I've dibbed Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy for Christmas. Heheheh.

I'd like to do it again this year, like my Deadpool tale years back. I'll do a Pixie story.

Silver Surfer and Galactus, if you please.

Yes, I know Galactus is dead (or rather, Jeff hasn't resurrected him yet...right, Jeff?) but this story should be able to work around that...

I'm gonna have to drop a heads up here.

Not to be a pain, but Pixie would be a problem, as she is part of the Captain Britain: MI-13 cast, and her back story/origins are different to Main Marvel.

Being as she's only just debuting now, there are certain elements of that which I'm not ready to tip my hand on just yet.

I understand, since M2K hasn't updated their DIBS list since last year. I talked to DG about doing a NYX mini using Pixie, but that's ok. I can use Howard the Duck for my holiday tale, set before his role in Defenders of course.

Turkey Day is upon us and you all know what that means… I need to start hassling you guys about the Holiday Special!

Stories should be a minimum three pages and maximum six or seven pages, though to be fair I’m not sure if we’d knock anyone for them being a little longer depending on the word count. The deadline is roughly December 19th and I’ve already received two stories! The following characters are dibbed:

Wolverine and Nick Fury – Cory Wiegel
She Hulk and M.O.D.O.K. by Dave Golightly (story complete)
Starjammers by Scott Remond (story complete)
Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy – Hunter Lambright
Silver Surfer and Galactus – Bryan Locke
Howard the Duck – Patrick Moore
Espirita and Binary – Stephen Crosby

So get your dibs in and start writing!

Considering how quickly the Halloween special came together, I can't wait to see what everyone churns out for the holiday edition. Send 'em in, folks
